The Gods of Men

The human pantheon is a diverse and complex group of deities, each with their own unique domains and personalities. These gods are often worshipped by humans, but they also have followers among other races.
 

• Sol Invictus: The sun god, Sol Invictus is a powerful and benevolent deity. He is the patron of warriors and heroes.  

• Luna: The moon goddess, Luna is a mysterious and enigmatic deity. She is the patron of magic and divination.  

• Morpheus: The god of dreams and nightmares, Morpheus is a powerful and dangerous deity. He is the patron of thieves and assassins.

• Helios: The god of the underworld, Helios is a grim and forbidding deity. He is the patron of the dead and the dying.

• Gaia: The goddess of the earth, Gaia is a benevolent and nurturing deity. She is the patron of farmers and gardeners.

• Nereus: The god of the sea, Nereus is a wise and powerful deity. He is the patron of sailors and fishermen.  

• Eos: The goddess of the dawn, Eos is a beautiful and inspiring deity. She is the patron of poets and artists.

• Thanatos: The god of death, Thanatos is a grim and inevitable deity. He is the patron of the underworld.
   

The human gods are constantly at war with each other, and their conflicts often spill over into the mortal world. The mortals of Saphera must be careful to choose their patron deity wisely, as their choice will have a profound impact on their lives.

Divine Relationships and Conflicts

• The Dragon Gods and Their Opposition: The tyrannical Dragon Gods, led by the five-headed queen Tiamat, are opposed by a coalition of deities from other pantheons. Bahamut, the platinum dragon god of justice, leads the charge, his followers clashing with Tiamat's forces in a celestial struggle that mirrors the conflict on Saphera. Corellon Larethian, the elven god of magic, and Moradin, the dwarven god of the forge, also lend their strength to the resistance, their followers seeking to protect their people from draconic oppression.

• The Drow Schism: Lolth, the Spider Queen, embodies the treacherous nature of the drow. Her influence has spread beyond the Underdark, corrupting even surface elves and fostering a deep-seated mistrust between the elven subraces. This schism weakens the elven resistance against the dragons, playing into the claws of Tiamat and her ilk.

• The Unpredictable Human Gods: The human gods are a fractious lot, their alliances shifting with the tides of war and politics. While some, like Sol Invictus, the sun god, favor resistance against the dragons, others, like Morpheus, the god of dreams and nightmares, are more ambivalent, their motives shrouded in shadow. This unpredictability makes the human pantheon a wildcard in the divine struggle, capable of tipping the scales in either direction.

• The Rise of the Daragoon and Draconian Gods: As the dragons tighten their grip on Saphera, new deities have emerged, embodying the power and ambition of the Daragoon and Draconian races. These gods, while subservient to the Dragon Gods, are growing in strength, their influence spreading as the dragons' dominion expands. This creates a new dynamic in the pantheon, with potential for alliances and betrayals that could reshape the divine landscape.

Divine Influence on Saphera

The gods of Saphera are not passive observers. They actively influence the world through their followers, their actions shaping the course of history and the lives of individuals. Their presence is felt in the rise and fall of empires, the spread of religions, and the clash of cultures. The mortals of Saphera must be careful to choose their patron deity wisely, as their choice will have a profound impact on their lives and the fate of the world.
